A few months ago, Clinique re-released their popular and iconic yellow moisturiser under the reformulated Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion +. I had only recently discovered the original Dramatically Different a few months before and it quickly became my everyday moisturiser. I must admit, I was intrigued as to how different the Dramatically Different + actually be from the original, and whether it was worth the supposed 3 years it took to formulate it.
The Dramatically Different + promises to strengthen the skin's barrier, and increase hydration with the addition of hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and urea. The only thing they didn't add which I would liked to have seen is SPF!
I often have trouble with moisturisers targeted towards dry skin being somewhat heavy and not sitting well under makeup. The DD+ is super light, doesn't feel at all heavy on the skin and sits well under makeup. It also absorbs super quickly which means I don't have to sit around waiting to apply makeup. The lotion is moisturising enough to keep dry patches at bay (I'm really prone to these at the moment!) throughout the day, though I like to wear something more intense and creamy at night.
The only thing is, I experienced all these things when using the original formula of the Dramatically Different lotion. Based on the few months I was using the original and comparing it to the month I've been using the +, I haven't noticed a huge amount of difference between the two. The + is slightly more moisturising and has a slightly 'smoother' feel, though nothing vastly different. I don't see this as an overly bad thing, because it still does what I want it to do!
There is an upside to all this - Clinique have lowered the prices to $49 for 125ml which I think is pretty amazing! I'll definitely be using this moisturiser for a while to come.
Dramatically Different + is also available in the oil-free gel for all those with combination to oily skin.
